I have to confess, I've had trouble putting together some strong spring looks. I'm pretty over this whole color blocking trend, at least with bold colors that don't have any business being near each other. I can appreciate a color blocked outfit with neutrals that create a fluent statement. As for my overall taste in fashion, I'm in to basic classic pieces. I can't see any future benefit in purchasing say...a new pink jacket and green pants (which can look very on trend paired together) i just don't see myself using those pieces again and again. I have my safety colors, black and grey tones and secretly can't wait for fall so I can feel a connection to my wardrobe again. As for now, I'm going to continue thrifting through spring and summer since these are my least favorite seasons for fashion. This way if I get the urge to color block or stick to a seasonal trend, it can be done at a price that's comfortable for me and it's great way to recycle.

Fuzzy Sweater.

A few photos Billy took in our room before I was on my death bed for 12 hours. I hate those random days where you're only sick for part of the day. I'd rather be sick the whole day and wake up the next morning refreshed rather than feel surprisingly better around 6pm and be pissed off I wasted my whole day. Back to my outfit, I'm really excited about this fuzzy black sweater. I saw it hanging in my favorite thrift shop from a few rows of clothes over and nearly knocked another woman over trying to retrieve it (not that anyone was fighting me for this beastly sweater). It's over sized but a little too over sized. I'll probably need to tailor it the next time I wear it. It was the perfect accent to down-play this slutty call girl look I went for that night.

Alexander Wang Boots.

Alexander Wang Addison Boots.

I mentioned a few posts back about my ruthless hunt for the Addison boot online. Sadly nearly every site carried the boot in a size 36. A few days back I headed over to my local Barney's store to make my monthly payment for their credit card. Keeping in mind my boyfriend, grandmas and cousins birthday are next month I attempted to put the "blinders" on when entering the store and gun it to the register to get the bill taken care of. There were a few customers at the counter so instead of waiting I started wandering. Normally I'd say this was a big mistake because I'd end up going home with a bunch of things never needed, this was fate. I sloped over to the shoe department and to my suprise and utter delight I saw it. It (with a Capitol "I") was the Addison boot, ridiculously marked down and my size. The ONLY pair. Still being budget conscious I told the sales person I was hesitant because of future bills. She kindly told me they would be going to 40% off on Friday and took my name to hold them. $174 well spent, I am so pleased to have them in my collection.

My Closet.

Shoes: Thrifted/ Photos: William Thomas

Did some major cleaning today and wanted to share some of the progress I made with my closet. Which isn't really a closet, but 2 lopsided rolling racks in our kitchen that my boyfriend puts up with. We have a closet in the bedroom that I've taken over but so graciously spared a foot and a half of space for him(I know I know, girlfriend of the year). I try to keep the clothes I wear more regularly in the kitchen and add some clothes that I should wear more often to the racks in there. Go too items like grandpa sweaters and out of season things I keep in the bedroom. There are quite a few things on the racks I'm especially excited to share. Alexander Wang shorts and a T by A Wang dress being 2 of them. I bought both ridiculously on sale(the shorts I scored for $35 and the dress $11). If you haven't been able to tell yet I'm really into finding things on the cheap. There's an unexplainable thrill when I find a designers "it" item for more than half the price it sold for originally. Even if it is out of season. The shoes in the bottom photo are a thrift attempt to make okay that almost every shopping site has the Alexander Wang Addison boot for less than $250 but only in a baby size 36. I wear a 40 sometimes 41 in high end shoes. My thrifted boots make me feel better... for the moment.
